It then introduces the concept of mobile data collection, highlighting its advantages, and discusses two popular tools, Open Data Kit (ODK) and Kobo Toolbox, which are commonly used for data collection in the field.

Module 2: Setting Up ODK and Kobo Toolbox

In this module participants will be able to install and configure ODK Collect on Android devices. We will cover the process of creating an account and setting up a project on Kobo Toolbox, followed by lessons on designing forms using ODK Build and Kobo Form Builder, providing the foundational steps to get started with mobile data collection using these tools.

Module 3: Form Design and Customization

In this module participants will be able to design and customize forms. Participants will acquire skill in elements like text and multiple-choice questions, logical skip patterns and conditional questions for more dynamic surveys, advanced form design features such as repeat groups, calculations, and constraints, and finally, incorporating translations and multi-language support into forms, enabling users to design effective and versatile data collection instruments.

Module 4: Data Collection Best Practices

In this module we will delve into Data Collection Best Practices," focusing on essential considerations for successful data collection campaigns.

Module 5: Data Management and Analysis

This module looks at the post-data collection phase. , it covers the process of uploading and effectively managing collected data using Kobo Toolbox, data cleaning and validation techniques to ensure data quality and how to Export data into various formats for further analysis.
